What We Do

Club Signature Project

We maintain 9 Little Libraries located in parks and neighborhoods around Lower Paxton Township. The project was started by a Girl Scout as her final service project, and our club has inherited the maintenance and expanded on the project to new locations across our community. All are invited to borrow from and add to these Little Libraries!

Our Little Libraries can be found in the following locations:

  • Linglestown (near St. Thomas Roasters)
  • Koons Park
  • George Park
  • Kohl Park
  • Stray Winds
  • Blue Meadows Farm
  • Centennial Acres Park
  • Kings Crossing Park
  • Friendship Center YMCA
  • Brightbill Park
  • More locations coming soon!

Lower Paxton Township Dog Kennel Project

We fully financed the construction of a kennel at one of the Lower Paxton Township’s maintenance buildings so that stray and runaway dogs can have a safe place to reside before moving back home or into the adoption system. Though the project is complete, ongoing maintenance costs – including providing food for the sheltered dogs – still exist, so we are still accepting donations to assist with the continued success of this project!

Other Community Projects

We are actively involved in many of the Lower Paxton Township community events, including:

  • National Night Out (George Park)
  • Lower Paxton Township Fall Festival
  • Spring Kite Festival & Family Fun Day (Lingle Park/Kohl Park)

We are also pleased to recognize our recent partnership with Families United Network, a locally-based foster network whose goal is to find a permanent home for the children in its care. Families United Network has helped more than 500 children in our area and across the state through foster care, adoptions, and by providing residential services.
